Merry Christmas

Hey all,

just wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone. It's been crazy around our house but we are so excited about Christmas this year with our grandbaby. She loves looking at the lights and everything and gets excited when she sees the packages (I think she just wants to eat the paper).

I received an invite to write a book review blog for Everybody Needs a Little Romance. I am excited about this but I have never officially written a book review so I'm a little nervous. I am always afraid that I will give too much away about the book. I love to read and love to share my books with others. We'll see if I do ok or not.

Am feeling a little Sad today

Found out this morning that grandpa and grandma's little sunshine is going to have to go back into the hospital for 2 weeks of antibiotics. She has a lung infection again. She has been well for the last 6 months though, so that is a blessing.

She is growing and is such a good & happy baby. She weighs 17pds, 3ozs and is well over the 50% in size/weight. We couldn't ask for any better. She is truly the sunshine of our lives.
On another sad note, a friend of ours lost their mother today and our hearts and prayers go out to him and his family.

On a happier note, we sign papers on our new house on the October 23rd. I am excited and scared all at once. It will be nice to have something that is finally ours and do what we want with it. Went and bought a new washer and dryer this past weekend and still have to get a fridge and dining room table.

Little Princess

just had to take a minute and share the new pictures of our little princess or as her mother calls her little diva.

We took her to this awesome place called Portrait Innovations to have her pix made in her Razorback Outfit her grandpa bought her. Here's some of the great shots they took.

Category Romance books

I have always been an avid reader. I started off with the classics such as Nancy Drew by Carolyn Keene and the coming of age books by Judy Blume. I read a lot of other YA books that we purchased through Scholastic books.

My love for books has only grown through out the years. I remember reading my mom's Harlequin books. She used to have tons of them. They have adapted and changed over the years (the covers especially) but they are still a comfort read to me.

there is a contest this week to "save category romance books" that you can check out at http://savethecontemporary.com/celebrate-the-category-romance/ if you are interested in preserving one of the greatest comforts in life for a romance reader.

Free books and New Releases 7/28/09

There are so many contests on-line daily. I can't keep up with them all but I love contests for free books. I am on a book budget because we are trying to save enough money to buy a new house. I have done well. I have been buying a few books but have won a few so that's nice.

Melissa Francis has a new teen vampire book coming out today called BITE ME! and she is running a contest on her blog that runs until Thursday, July 30th. Winner will be announced on Friday July 31st. You can check it out at http://fictionistas.blogspot.com/2009/07/who-wants-copy-of-bite-me.html.

Another cool contest is for Elizabeth Naughton's Stolen Heat, which also releases today. You can check out the contest at http://www.writemindedblog.com/?p=1776. She is talking about You Tube videos and book trailers.

Some of the other books releasing today include:

Jeaniene Frost's 4th installment in her Night Huntress series called An Early Grave.
Jenna Black's 4th installment in her Morgan Kingsley series Speak of the Devil
Rita Herron - Dark Hunger
Stacia Kane - Demon Inside
Julie Kenner - Good Ghouls Do

and quite a few others. Next week is also going to be a huge release week with Lora Leigh, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Emma Holly, Jessica Andersen, Rachel Vincent and many others. So many books so little time and money. I hate to have to make those kinds of decisions.
